Before recording the Getting to Know Jesus podcasts, Chuck Davis, Senior Pastor of Stanwich Church and Eric Kampmann, a businessman and writer, had recorded 365 podcasts on key passages found in the Wisdom books of the Old Testament. During a trip they took to Israel in 2012, it became apparent to both that the next step needed to be a year long podcast series built on the Gospel accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Both Chuck and Eric favored an open discussion format to encourage listeners to feel they were part of an interesting ongoing conversation They wanted each podcast to be spontaneous, accessible and relevant to everyday life while being true to the meaning contained in God’s Word. In Eric’s words: “Each conversation tries to focus on how the biblical and the everyday intersect in sometimes obvious and sometimes unexpected ways.” For those who have heard Chuck preach at Stanwich, they know he has a unique and powerful way of communicating the message that brings biblical illumination together with our daily walk.

Chuck Davis has been Senior Pastor of Stanwich Church for nine years. Prior to coming to Stanwich, Chuck was Professor of Intercultural Studies at Alliance Theological Seminar and prior to that he was a missionary in Mali, Africa for ten years. Chuck has a doctorate in sociology from Fordham University.
